The director who helped to build the $ 700 million Michael Hill Jewelery Empire suddenly died at night, only 57 years old.
Daniel Bracken in Brisbane died as a result of a 'adverse reaction to medical treatment for an underlying medical condition,' the company said on Wednesday.
He was remembered as a 'passionate retailer' and a 'strategic thinker' that since 2018 was in the top track at the ASX-Gentered Michael Hill International.
“The board, the manager and the entire Michael Hill team express their deepest and sincere condolences to his family and friends,” the company said.
'On behalf of the board, we thank Daniel for his excellent leadership and dedication to the Michael Hill Group and our people in the last seven years. He will be very missed.
“Daniel was a passionate retailer, an innovative and strategic thinker and an inspiring leader, who transformed the Michael Hill group into the company it is today.”
Further details about interim leadership schemes would be provided by the board in due course, the company said on Wednesday afternoon.
Bernie Brookes, the former Myer CEO and the former boss of Mr. Bracken, said he was a “real merchandiser” who had an excellent career in the retail trade.

“He had a real skill in merchandising and branding,” Mr. Brookes told the Australian. “He was taken too quickly.”
Paul Zahra, a former CEO of both David Jones and the Australian Retailers Association, said Mr. Bracken as a “complete Lord” who used his international experience to benefit the brands with which he worked together.
“The retail community is in shock,” said Mr. Zahra. 'My sincere condolences go to his family and friends at this difficult time.
“From luxury fashion to leading a global jewelry store, the leadership of Daniel formed iconic brands, stimulating innovation, growth and a lasting influence of industry.”
Markets with Madison -Gastheer Madison Malone tweeted that Mr Bracken was such an energetic CEO that was genuinely enthusiastic about the future of the iconic jewelers.
'The last time we spoke, I told him that I had shopped for an engagement ring. He thought it was great that the company played a role in celebrating the greatest moments of life. '
Mr. Bracken, who was born in London, previously served as Chief Merchandise and customer officer at department store Myer and had also worked at Burberry.
Michael Hill International shares have fallen by 4 percent.
