President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that his environmental protection agency manager Lee Zeldin will reduce a majority of the workforce of that agency.
“I spoke with Lee Zeldin and he thinks he is going to cut 65 or so percent of the people from the environment and we will also accelerate the process,” Trump said during his first cabinet meeting.
“Many people who did not do their work were just obstructionists, many people who did not exist,” he added.
Trump, together with his head of Doge Elon Musk, has had a staircase to reduce the federal workforce and to reform the role of the government.
Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, was at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday and Trump praised him for his efforts and encouraged him to take it even further.
