The White House unveiled the identity of the woman who now acted as manager of the Department of Government Efficiency on Tuesday.
Amy Gleason, 53, is a less well -known former consultant for health care and apparently formally given the lead of the Doge of Elon Musk.
Musk is in a position known as a special government officer or SGE-Die is a way to make a private individual work or unpaid for the government for a limited time without being subject to the same limitations of a full-time federal employee .
SGES can temporarily work for the government for a period of 130 days a maximum of 365 consecutive days.
The Trump government said in a court earlier in February that Musk has no authority about Doge, despite the fact that the president repeatedly claims that the billionaire 'first buddy' is in charge of the massive cost-saving program.
Since that application, the White House has been peppered with questions about those who really manage the initiative that billions in contracts, has reduced thousands of jobs and has even stripped entire government agencies.
Gleason previously worked as a civil servant at the US Digital Service (USDS) from 2018 to 2021. In this role she worked in the White House on the federal response to the Coronavirus Pandemie during Trump's first term.

USDS was founded under the government of President Barack Obama in an attempt to modernize the technological infrastructure of the government.
After Trump's inauguration on January 20, the digital service was renamed the American Doge service and now works to radically reduce the federal government. Even after that date, Gleason returned to the USDS to help with a smooth transition, a former employee told Reuters.
An official from the White House said that Gleason succeeded as a contact person between Doge and other agencies.
Although it is not immediately clear whether Gleason was only mentioned in the role or whether she had kept it since the formation of the new agency.
According to the LinkedIn profile of Gleason, she has been working as a senior advisor to the Digital Service of the United States since last month. It also shows that she was an independent consultant and product officer at a venture capital company in health care and a national health care organization.
Trump's executive order that was signed last month on the establishment of Doge states that the manager reports to Staff Chef Susie Wiles of the White House.
The almighty and doubtful role of Musk in the government has led to issues in lawsuits containing the legality of the actions and announcements of doge-including access to sensitive government pampering systems.

The White House said earlier this month in a court that Musk is an employee of the White House and is a senior adviser to the president. The administration has said that Musk is an unpaid 'special government officer', which means that his role is temporary.
Federal employees are confused about who has authority about them and the future of their employment as a musk threatens their jobs on social media.
On Saturday evening, Musk posted on his social media website X that if federal employees did not respond to the doge -e -mail sent from the Personnel Management office, if their dismissal were considered.
The e -mail demanded that employees describe five things they 'reached at work last week'.
“It took me a minute and a half to think of five things I did last week,” said Trump's press secretary Karoline Leavitt during a press conference on Tuesday where she assured that the White House would reveal the identity of the doge manager.
