Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were partially mummified in the $ 3.3 million mansion of the couple, with pills that are littered in their bathroom.
An arrest warrant obtained by DailyMail.com revealed that Arakawa, 64, was found with a bloated feeling on her face and mummification in her hands and feet.
Sheriffs said that Hackman would have the same signs of decomposition as his wife.
Two maintenance workers named Roland Lowe Begay and Jesse Kesler discovered the bodies of Arakawa and her retired Hollywood star spouse on their $ 3.3 million Santa Fe Mansion Wednesday at 1:46 pm Mountaintime.
Begay and Kesler told the researchers that they had not seen them for two weeks.
Both seem to be dead for a while.
Arakawa was discovered lying on the bathroom floor of the house of the couple, with an open prescribed bottle of pills spread over a nearby countertop.
No indication was given about what the pills were and whether they were prescribed to Hackman or his wife.
Space heating was found next to the head of Arakawa, of which researchers think it has been possible.
Hackman was found dead in a mud room of the kitchen of the couple, the command said.

The Oscar-winning Superman star was completely dressed. His sunglasses were found next to his body, which suggests that he may have died of a sudden fall.
One of the three dogs of the couple, a German shepherd, was found dead about 10 to 15 feet from Betsy in a cupboard near the bathroom.
Previous reports had suggested that the animal was found dead in a kennel. The other two dogs of the couple were unharmed.
One of the surviving dogs was found alive close to Betsy's body, with a second roaming the building.
The front door of the couple was open and there were no signs of forced access.
The Santa Fe Sheriff department said that there is no suggestion for cheating, but that an investigation is underway.
