A man died tragically after he had suffered a medical episode while diving.
Emergency services were called Port Noarlunga Jetty, in the south of Adelaide around 1.30 pm on Thursday after reports that a man had unknowingly pulled out of the water.
The 64-year-old could not be revived and died on the spot, despite the efforts of paramedics and fishermen, who brought at least 15 minutes with CPR.
It is clear that the man had previously searched the ocean floor with a metal detector.
The fisherman who called Triple-0 had talked to the diver's friend when the couple remarked that air bubbles had stopped with the surface.
Peter Nates and the diver's friend jumped into action and pulled the man out of the water.

The police were called to the popular jetty on Thursday at about 1.30 pm
“We were chatting for a while about the antique stuff that lay in the water under the jetty from the early 1800s,” Mr. Nates told the advertiser.
“And I said, I haven't seen any bubbles coming yet.”
Mr Nates jumped into the water to help the diver's friend pull him out of the water.
