Yazan, who now visits his father every three months, remembers that his parents sometimes argue and go to a police station when his mother died.

He said: 'I would sometimes have arguments here in the house where we lived at the time.

“When the incident happened, I remember that I went to a police station in Manchester – I don't know where my little sister was at the time. We were then told and were put in foster care. '

His mother, Rania grew up in refugee camps in Syria, where she met Al-Khatib, who was nine years older than she was. They married later when she was 15 and moved to the UK in 2005.

During the Al-Khatib process on Manchester Crown Court, he became more and more jealous and checked her from years of domestic and sexual violence from Alayed and subjected her.

In January 2013 she reported him to the police for domestic violence, obtained a non-molestation warrant and moved to a homeless hostel with Yazan and his two brothers and sisters.

Al-Khatib then killed Rania in the flat of his brother in Salford, Greater Manchester and even posed like her on social media and sent her family, trying to pretend she was alive.

Al-Khatib also admitted that it was twisted the course of justification by transporting and hiding the body of Rania.

The prosecutor said that Rania was killed because he was 'too westernized' and 'founded an independent life' with Mr. Justice Leggatt, al-Khatib accompanied, and said that the mother-of-three had suffered 'years of abuse'.

His brother Muhanned al-Khatib was not found guilty of murder and received a period of three years after he also admitted to strengthen and hide the body of Rania.

A third brother, Hussain al-Khatibm was imprisoned for four years for twisting justice.

Detective -Head inspector Neil Higginson, of the biggest incident team of the Greater Manchester police, said after the discovery of the remains:

'More than a decade after her murder, we now strongly believe that we have found Rania's body and are finally able to close her family that we know over the years have endured so much pain and sorrow.

'The Rania family has always been kept informed after our searches in recent years, and we provide them updates if we get them after this most recent development.

'Her murder was completely horrible and not knowing where her body is, added further pain to everyone who knew her. I hope that we can finally reunite her with her family, where she belongs so that they can give her a good resting place. '
