Ten suspected illegal migrants were discovered hidden behind a Spanish registered truck under crates of oranges on a highway in Surrey today.

The police intercepted the man HGV on the M3 Westbound between Junction Two for the M25 and Junction Three for Woking, Bracknell and Lightwater.

One of the people in the truck called Surrey Police at around 10.25 am, with officers who then identify the vehicle and put on the highway.

Detectives found ten people in the back of the truck and they took in custody after they all arrested them on suspicion of entering the UK without leave.

Two people were taken to the hospital as a precaution, while the driver was arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal access to the UK under the Immigration Act.

Police and paramedics attended the scene near Longcross Film Studios – with at least seven men and women photographed or standing on the side of the road.
