Asylum Claims rose under the birth to hit more than 108,000 last year – the highest number since the records started in 1979.

The biggest increase came in the second half of the year – after the general elections – when 61,383 asylum offers were submitted, compared to 50,352 during the same period in 2023.

The annual total one increase of 18 percent on an annual basis slump the previous record set in the Asylum crisis in the early 2000s by 5 percent.

The data showed that the number of asylum claims that was granted fell by 37 percent to slightly less than 40,000, especially because the previous Tory government gave up cases last spring.

Secretary of the Yvette Cooper working house returned that move in July, allowing the processing to be started again. At the end of December there were 90,686 Asylum Affairs with regard to 124,802 human-in anticipation of a first decision, a decrease of 5 percent on an annual basis.

Figures on legal migration showed that the number of work visa granted last year fell by 37 percent to 210,000, thanks to changes that the conservatives introduced at the beginning of 2024. Ministers of Tory increased salary thresholds that are needed for Werkvisa and forbade many migrants to take family members to the UK.

But despite the decrease in the number of new work visa that is being spent, there has been a huge increase in the number of foreign employees who continue to renew their right to continue to renew in the UK.

Work visa extensions reached 417,000, a seven -fold increase at the level of 2019. The number of foreign students granted a visa decreased by 14 percent to 393,000. Under the total, the settlement has been awarded to former refugees with more than a third year to 40,278 with more than a third year.

There was also a 'sharp increase' of the number of people who took British citizenship, according to documents from the home office at the figures. The number of leap by just over 63,000 years a year to 270,000, the highest since the records started. In 2020 the figure was only 131,000.

Slightly less than 209,000 of the citizenship granted were non-EU nationals, with the remaining 61,000 originally from the EU.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: 'Without a deterrent and an obsession with rewarding criminal migrants with British passports, today's figures are no surprise.
