A man of machete-waving who endangered terrified shoppers in a busy Canberra Mall is still free.
Dramatic visual material from the inside Canberra Outlet Center in Fyshwick has been released by the Australian Federal Police who show that the man waved in the big knife on Thursday at 3.15 pm.
Emergency services responded to reports that a man and wife shoppers and retail staff threatened with the weapon after the couple reportedly tried to steal some shoes.
CCTV won various encounters between the man while holding the machete and other people in the center.
It is understood that the few kept around for some time before they entered the store to allegedly steal the pair of shoes.
They were caught on security cameras that became defensive after the staff from the store had confronted them.
This led the man to withdraw the knife from his pants.
From there he would have threatened various staff members and members of the public while making his way to the exit.

The man, who seemed to be accompanied by a woman at the time, was filmed with a machete in the Canberra Outlet Center in Fyshwick
No one was injured in the test, but various shoppers told officers that the incident 'confronted' them for them.
Images show that the woman was wearing active clothing and wore two bags while the man had a backpack and wore tight jeans and a cap.
The man and the woman quickly fled from the outlet center shortly after the threatening behavior.
By the time the police arrived, the couple was gone and they still have to be arrested.
ACT -Politie is now investigating the incident.
A manhunt has also been launched to find the man of the knife.
“Act Policing -Researchers want to speak with witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, as well as anyone who can identify the couple or can help with their location,” said a statement.
The man is Described as white with a solid build and dark hair in mulstyle.

He was wearing one Black T-shirt with light-colored jeans and blue sneakers together with wearing a Black backpack.
The woman is described as white with long, straight dark hair and glasses.
She was wearing a dark strapless crop top, gray bicycle shorts and blue and white sneakers while wearing a large black carrying case and a black handbag.
