A student at Southern University died tragically during a late brotherhood ritual in the evening.
Caleb Wilson, 20, participated in a ritual for the Omega PSI Phi -Brotherhood in which promises are in a row when he suddenly collapsed.
The ritual took place outside the campus in North Sherwood Forest Community Park, Louisiana.
Hee was brought to the Baton Rouge General Hospital in the early hours of Thursday, but was declared dead at 3.15 am on arrival.
An autopsy is being carried out to determine Wilson's exact cause of death and an investigation into the incident is taking place.
Wilson was a junior at school and a member of the Human Jukebox Band.
The Southern University Division or Student Affairs has implemented an indefinite Pope about all recruitment and initiation activities for brotherhoods, women's clubs and student clubs.
In a statement, the school said: 'Southern University and A&M College is aware of an off-campus incident that may have led to the death of student Caleb Wilson, a junior from New Orleans main subject in mechanical engineering.

'The campus community is expanding part of his family, classmates and loved ones.
“Southern works completely with the Baton Rouge police, who is responsible for the investigation.”
The school offers counseling services for all students, teachers and staff.
Wilson's father was a high -placed member of the office of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff, who published a statement that gave their condolences for the 'unimaginable loss' of the family.
'On behalf of Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, the office of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff is expanding its condolences to deputy Corey Wilson and his family after the heartbreaking loss of his son Caleb.
“Dep. Wilson retired last year as a sergeant after serving JPSO for 35 years. Pat. Wilson's dedication to the public service has continued with him who currently serves in our reserve division. '
Wilson Sr. Had also worked security data for New Orleans Saints NFL Team -owner, businesswoman Gayle Benson.
Benson issued a statement on Thursday and tribute Wilson and his family.

'I have a deep and personal relationship with his family.
“Today we mourn with him for this meaningless death, our thoughts and prayers are all who are affected by this heartbreaking loss.”
His marching band members also paid tribute to a joint statement that Wilson described as' a talented trumpet player, a devoted student and a clear soul.
