LSU Pole Vaulter Dillon Redenauer was killed this week at the age of 18 in a car accident.
According to local reports, Rentenauer was in a car that was hit by a motorcyclist in Baton Rouge. The motorcyclist also died, with both vehicles reporting in flames.
An LSU statement said: 'LSU athletics is deeply sad to share the tragic news of the death of first-year student and field student athlete Dillon Rentenauer in a traffic incident in Baton Rouge on Wednesday evening.
'Our thoughts and prayers are with Dillon's family, friends and teammates, as well as with those affected by the loss of another person who died as a result of the incident.

LSU's athlete website describes Rentenauer as one of the best wristvaulters in Louisiana.
LSU coach Dennis Shraver added: “Everyone in our LSU rack and field family keeps Dillon's loved ones in our thoughts and prayers, as well as those of the other person lost in the incident.”
