Chattered former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo runs for the mayor of the Big Apple.
De Democrat, 67, made the announcement on Saturday in a 17-minute video to his YouTube and social media channels.
The news comes only years after he resigned in the office in 2021 after being confronted with a whole series of accusations of sexual harassment, which he all refused.
Cuomo, the brother of Nieuwsnation journalist, Chris Cuomo, told viewers that 'New York City is the largest city in the world', but 'it's in trouble'.
“The city just feels threatening, out of hand. These conditions do not exist as an act of God, but rather as an act of our political leaders, “he said.
“Or rather, the lack of intelligent action by many of our political leaders,” he said, referring to the current mayor Eric Adams of the Big Apple, even though it did not mention it immediately.
Allies of Cuomo's campaign submitted paperwork on Wednesday with the New York Board of Elections to set up a political action committee called 'Fix the City', USA Today reported.
The group is planning to collect $ 15 million, more than double the amount collected by the Super PAC during the Adam's 2021 campaign, according to the New York Times.

Adams, who was considered a good choice for the job when he won in 2021, has since had to deal with a major decline in his indictment against corruption, his handling of illegal migrants in the city and more urgent problems.
He was accused of conspiracy in September to commit wire fraud, bribery of the federal program and to receive the campaign contributions from foreigners.
The mayor is also accused of cheating NYC taxpayers of $ 10 million by alleged fraudulent campaign funds.
