Treasury secretary Scott Bessent revealed that Volodyymyr Zensky had previously refused a mineral deal with the US before the fatal Oval Office confrontation with President Trump.
On the Ingraham corner of Fox News, Bessent told host Laura Ingraham that Zensky told him during a meeting in Kiev that he would not sign a mineral deal.
The proposed agreement, now apparently on ice, is said to have exchanged billions of dollars in American aid financing for rare earths and other agents from Ukraine.
Trump's Ukraine also revealed that Zensky separately refused to close the deal with vice president JD Vance and State Secretary Marco Rubio.
“This should be one of the greatest diplomatic accidents of all time by President Zensky,” Bessent said on Friday.
Yesterday, Zensky, Trump and Vance exploded in a heated argument in the Oval Office during what was intended as peace talks about the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump and Vance betray the Ukrainian president because they were ungrateful to the United States during the war.
Bessent said to the outlet: “It was supposed to be a great day and this is one of the biggest own goals in diplomatic history.”
