A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a pubbeier died in a 'one-punch attack' near a Wetherpooonens bar in a busy High Street in London.
Police and paramedics ran to Lewisham High Street, Southeast Londs, after reports of an attack last night.
A 63-year-old man with life-threatening injuries was found on the spot and rushed to the hospital where he unfortunately died. His family has now been informed.
The Metropolitan Police believes that the victim was attacked after a malfunction in the Watch House Pub – a Wetherpoons breast branch.
Officers arrested a 42-year-old man near the stage on suspicion of murder.
The suspect is now being held in custody at a police station in South Londs, while the troops are conducting their research.
Several bus routes were hit and the southern part of Lewisham High Street was closed.

The Metropolitan Police believes
Detective chief inspector Craig Magee, of the specialist crime command of the with, said: “This tragic incident happened in a busy part of Southeast London. We would like to hear from everyone who was in Lewisham High Street or at the Watch House Pub and has information about what happened.
'We spent the night on the spot and today there will be an increased presence of police in the area while we continue to collect evidence.
“I acknowledge the concern that such a crime causes. We have a suspect in custody and on the basis of the studies that have been carried out so far, we do not believe that there is a risk for the wider community. '
