A man was taken to the hospital after he had been shot in the leg by the police during a reporting -armed distance with a knife.
The police of Queensland was called on Saturday around 7.30 pm to a house on Gardenia Grove in Burleigh Heads.
The police said in a statement that the calls had received about an 'armed man', in the thirty, 'making threats'.
“On arrival, the armed man made threats for officers and was then shot by the police,” said Queensland's police.
'Medical help was immediately provided to the man and he was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-lifetime injuries.
“A crime scene was explained and police investigation continues.”
The shooting will be further investigated by the Ethical Standards Command and subject to supervision by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
A woman who witnessed the incident claimed that the man threatened officers with a knife.

“Last night my partner and I were just in the living room across where the incident took place, in a large apartment block we were higher as 25 levels and we had the door open and heard all the commotion,” she told the Courier Mail.
“He just shouted, screaming, cursed and a few moments later he came out with a chainsaw and just did a little round around the front garden and up and down on the street.
“Then he went back into the house and it was quiet for a while, then we heard the sirens and all police officers fluctuated.
“They went inside to try to talk to him and he came out with a huge knife and sued in one of the police officers, and then he was shot.”
