Dozens of flights to Byron Bay have been canceled as a tropical cyclone Alfred on the coast of Queensland.
Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia have canceled all flights in and out of Ballina Gateway Airport on Wednesday.
Jetstar said that flights JQ459 and JQ461 from Sydney and Flight JQ465 from Melbourne had been canceled due to 'strong wind of the cyclone'.
Three Jetstar flights that leave the airport of Ballina Gateway are also canceled.
Qantas has flights QF2062 and QF2063 in and out of Ballina and Virgin Australia have canceled flights VA1139 and VA1140.
Virgin also canceled his service in and out of Ballina on Thursday.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted the airlines for comment.
It comes when the Bureau of Meteorology warns that Tropical Cyclone Alfred Queensland could hit as a category three system.

The system is expected to cross the coast and gusts of 150 km/h on Friday at 1 am, intense rain and potentially flashing flashes.
