A six -year -old schoolboy becomes the youngest participant of Crufts when he goes to the show with his Pooch 'best friend'.
Freddie Osborne and his Smooth Fox Terrier Penny will compete with adults after qualifying for the world -famous dog show for the first time last year.
Cute photos show how the couple is inseparable since the day Freddie was always born with Penny faithfully on his side.
The young person has now received special permission to take the day of school, so that he can compete on Thursday at Birmingham's NEC.
Freddie and his beloved Cent, eight years old, are now being tipped to become one of the stars of the show on Terrier & Hound Day – a day in the show when the respective varieties are rated.
Freddie, from Bobbington, Staffordshire, said: 'I love dog shows and I love Penny because she is not just my dog, she is my best friend.
'I'm really looking forward to being with her in the Arena.
'At home she likes to lick, sit on your lap and hugs. I like to walk with her because they are fun and give you fresh air.

“But I like to do the dog shows and get prices and rosettes.”
His mother Kimberley, 34, added: 'He was only two weeks old when he first came to Cruft with us and he has been going since.
“He always helped us with our dogs, but this will be the first time he participated there.”
Freddie was only five when he and Penny qualified for Crufts at the Birmingham National.
He will have friends, family and colleague -Terrier -owners who cheer him when he arrives at the Arena at 1 p.m.
Veteran dog show jury members Caroline Friend-Rees and Zena Thorn Andrews have also given feedback before his big day.
Kimberly added: 'This weekend he received great advice from veteran jury members and the best in class winners.
“He was also learned the right etiquette that was needed to impress the jury members of Crufts.

'We went to the Fox Terrier show in South Wales this weekend and it was really the perfect last preparations for Crufts.
“He's wearing his game and Penny looks better than ever before.”
The Osbourne Ras Family Fox Terriers under the kennel name Forgevale and is together with Margaret Hughes from Ledbury, Herefordshire.
Kimberly said: 'Unfortunately they are on the indigenous vulnerable breed list and threatened.
'In the 1930s, smooth fox terriers were classified as one of the most popular dogs, but now they are threatened.
“But they are as loving as a race and really good with children, so we really want to emphasize that.”
