Tropical Cyclone Alfred is on track to land on Friday evening to Saturday and brings winds from 120 km/h, up to 700 mm of rain and floods.
It could be the most devastating weather pattern that is seen in Southeast Queensland and North-East-New South Wales, because it is the first tropical to hit the region in more than 50 years.
A warning zone that stretches 650 km remains in place of Double Island Point in Queensland to Grafton in Noord -NSW.
The zone includes Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay and Ballina, but does not include a grafton.
On Thursday at 1 am Alfred was 325 km east of Brisbane and moved at 7 km/h.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts that Alfred will come ashore, possibly directly over Brisbane, at 7 p.m. on Friday.
“The center of Alfred is expected to cross the coast in Friday and notes that the last weather model data indicates the potential for a later intersection time than previously indicated,” the agency said.
“Location of intersection is still probably between Maroochydore and Coolangatta.”

Initially it was predicted that the cyclone would reach land in the early hours of Friday morning.
“Alfred is a 2-cyclone category and is expected to maintain this intensity while it continues to approach the coast of Southeast Queensland.”
Where is Tropical Cyclone Alfred probably crossing the coast?
- It is predicted that the two-system category will hit the southeastern Queensland between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, which crossed the coast on Friday
- The system has registered winds up to 90 km/h in the middle and windfalls of 130 km/h
- It is expected to bring daily rainfall totals between 200 mm and 400 mm on Thursday to Saturday, probably which leads to 'life -threatening' flood

What is the impact zone of Cyclone Alfred?
- The cyclist warning zone includes Double Island Point, Queensland to Grafton, NSW, with Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the hinterland to combine the victim of strong wind
- The arrival will coincide with Vloed in Queensland, possibly with 20,000 properties in Brisbane, nearly 5,000 on the Sunshine Coast and 6,000 at the Gold Coast

- It already has more than 4,000 calls for help
