The father of the Ole Miss student in the center of a vicious viral sex claim said that she suffered 'terribly' in his first interview since the false rumors exploded online.
Justin Cornett says that his traumatized 18-year-old daughter Mary Kate has received several death threats about posts that falsely claim that she had had a sexual relationship with her friend's father, Evan Solis, 19.
The allegations spread like an ongoing fire and force the first -year student of the University of Mississippi and her boyfriend to publicly deny them on Instagram.
Now the FBI and the local police hunt at the source of the evil cyber campaign that her family has greatly charged.
“This has been a difficult time for the family and we appreciate all the support,” Justin Cornett, 49, told you divorced from Mary Kate, Leslie, 53, to DailyMail.com.
“The authorities, both locally and federal, are fully engaged in the process and making progress.”
The father-of-five energy industry entrepreneur based in Houston, said that his terrified daughter “pretty terrible, given the seriousness of the situation.”
“She wasn't looking for this attention and this is pretty unfair. It was very difficult for us to have an appearance of a normal life, “he told DailyMail.com.
The Cornetts have now brought in a lawyer, who called the accusations 'gross', and have submitted a report to the Oxford police.
“The gross rumor about Mary Kate that exploded online last week is completely incorrect,” family lawyer Monica Uddin told DailyMail.com
“She did not audition for a reality show, she tried not to be a influencer, she tried not to become famous.”
She said it was 'Crazy Fake Rumor' X (Formal Twitter) because Mary Kate 'is an unusually good looking young girl' and also because it is 'Salacious'.
She added: 'The strange consequence of technology today is that it used to be a worthless rumor about someone who could go on campus or church, but your life would become normal again.

'But even further, people can produce fake photos and images and scroll for the average person when they look something that looks like it confirms that no one is stopping and asking questions – they just believe it and they keep going.
“Or even worse, they don't think about it and they keep talking about it and that is what some sports media figures have done.”
Uddin has made a mistake to add fuel to the grotesque rumors that seem to refer to online influencer, host former NFL player Antonio Brown and ESPN personality Pat McAfee.
McAfee referred to the story in an interview last week, but did not mention Cornett by name and stated that it was a statement.
The Cornetts have set up a GoFundMe to support other families who can share the same experience.
In a statement on the account, Mary Kate, who will be on March 20, March 19, wrote: 'I was the victim of a deliberate and coordinated cyber attacks that categorically false and defamatory information spreads.
'Partially and fully processed screenshots, fake ai -generated videos and manipulated photos have been promoted by irresponsible participants in social media and strengthened by thousands of fake accounts.
'In order not to be surpassed by the bots, irresponsible independent social media influencers with apparent links to Barrstool -sports and even important public figures such as Antonio Brown and Pat McAfee that organizes the college -spell day of ESPN, this extreme and complete lies distributed with zero interest in the truth.
'No one affiliated with these organizations has ever contacted us for comment. The most disturbing is my personal contact details illegally shared in public, so that my personal safety has been endangered. Many sent notes suggest that I even take my own life. '

Her young client, added Uddin, feels 'terrible'.
“She is such a bow that people leave her catcall when she leaves her dormitory,” she said.
'Campus Security told her that it is not safe for her to go to class.

“She has received death threats. She was Doxxed – so her mobile phone and address were placed online.
“She has received the most disgusting messages you can imagine.”
Uddin said that the identity of the fake rumor is unknown, but rest assured, we do everything that is possible to find out.
'I think that many of them are not so smart to hide their identity as they think they are.

Mary Kate's father Justin said that the authorities are 'fully involved' in the investigation and have warned other parents to be vigilant about protecting their children
'To be clear, it is completely incorrect, but it is also so disconnected from everything.
“It can really happen to someone – and God helps you if you are attractive.”
Cornett called on other parents to be vigilant about protecting their own children against similar campaigns of abuse.
“My heart breaks for every family that has been going on trauma at the moment,” he told DailyMail.com.
'I hope that all parents take the time to talk to your children and encourage them to be careful online
'A simple, loving and empathetic conversation can make the difference in someone's life.
“Nobody deserves to feel this kind of pain.”
Cornett Boyfriend Solis also issued a statement that closed the 'incredible rumors' about his family.
In an Instagram message last week he wrote: 'The accusations are unambiguously incorrect. My faith in my father and our relationship is also unspouring. He is completely innocent and is unjustly charged without the opportunity to speak on his behalf prior to these terribly false statements. '
'Please know that spreading shameful accusations without taking truth is just as unforgivable as starting the rumor itself. What we say and believe have real consequences for others. I pray that we can use this painful moment to learn and grow in the future. '
A spokesperson for ESPN said 'no comments' when contact was made by DailyMail.com.
