A gangland killer led an organized crime group from behind bars to finance a luxury lifestyle for his family, a court heard.
Robert O'hara remained the head of a major crime gang for drug trafficking even though he was behind bars.
This allowed his partner, Michelle Maxwell and daughter Kendal O'hara, a 'desirable lifestyle' in a £ 635,000 flat in the chic circus area of Glasgow.
At one point O'hara sent a message from the prison to an employee and asked them to buy a Lamborghini car on his behalf.
He also sent dozens of website -left to Mrs. Maxwell with details about expensive property that he thought she should buy on their behalf.
The police seized more than £ 300,000 in high -quality watches, jewelry, designer clothing and trainers and cash money during a raid on property that were linked to O'hara in 2021.
O'Hara was broadcast at the moment that a lifelong prison sentence was sent for the murder of rival Paul McDowall, together with accusations of arms and drugs in 2005.

He pleads guilty through his KC Donald Findlay to lead others to become involved in a seriously organized crime between 13 September 2018 and 28 May 2021.

The hearing was told that the Operation Gadget Police probe was initially aimed at another person, who cannot be called for legal reasons.
The police continued to grasp a huge appetite of class A drugs, firearms, grenades, ammunition and an industrial pilers that turned hundreds of thousands of street valium tablets.
The public prosecutor Alex Prentice KC then explained: 'During investigations it became clear that Robert O'hara was the director of the crime group, even though he was in prison since 2004.
'Additional investigations revealed that his family – in particular his long -term partner Michelle Maxwell and his daughter Kendal O'hara – lived a very desirable lifestyle.
“This included life in expensive houses, managing supercars, buying and possessing designer clothing and jewelry, which was paid for by the criminal funds of Robert O'hara.”
O'hara was caught because of texts and photos exchanged while he used three illegal phones while he was behind bars.

Mr. Prentice said, “The messages sent to others while they are in prison, show his awareness of daily operations and his direction to perform actions on his behalf to obtain equipment benefit.”
O'hara would get others on the outside to 'supplement' his phones with credit in prison.

Images sent as suggestions to O'hara of the car Trader website include a £ 225,000 Lamborghini Huracan.
There was also a screenshot of a 'spreadsheet' on the phone of this employee of O'hara 'Finance'.
Mr Prentice: 'It further illustrates his involvement in the production, sale and delivery of controlled medicines.
“This spreadsheet is a balance in which income and expenditure is recorded on behalf of O'hara.”
The document showed that 'wages' were paid to his partner and daughter.

The court heard that the couple lived in a flat in Park Circus between June 2020 and July 2021.
O'hara was unhappy at a certain moment that another employee had not paid the rent on behalf of Mrs Maxwell and his daughter.
A stemperity contained him warning: 'See if my family is admitted, there will be no talk.
“There will be nothing, size. We will fall on this. '

Mr. Prentice said: 'O'hara sent links to 71 property for sale on Rightmove.com.
“These were all in prosperous areas and priced between £ 500,000 and £ 1 million.”
These include a £ 525,000 flat in Glasgow's Kelvinside and a £ 635,000 house in Aberfoyle, Stirlingshire.

O'hara also discussed a 'cracker' of a home in Dumbarton and another in Bothwell in Lanarkshire.
Mr. Prentice said: “The fact that Michelle Maxwell and Kendal O'hara have viewed real estate under his leadership indicates that he believes that he has the funds and resources to buy real estate, even though he has no legitimate income.”
The police dived at the Park Circus flat on June 17, 2021.
A total of £ 2,905 cash was taken, along with £ 31,755 clothing, accessories and shoes.
Mr. Prentice stated that he found £ 72,495 of watches, along with £ 40,500 in jewelry.
Other features linked to the gang were also searched.
Another £ 174,000 in watches, £ 31,000 in money and £ 4270 from Designer Trainers were seized.
Defense lawyer Mr. Findlay said that O'hara had offered to argue for the last violation as soon as possible.
The KC said: “He made it clear to me that” enough is enough. ” If he will ever get a chance with his family, he would be what he wanted to have everything sorted.
“He acknowledges the way to deal with this is to do what he did.”
Lord Harrower reduced the prison sentence of 12 years because of the guilty plea.
The judge said that O'hara had been 'candid' about his involvement, but that there is' nothing that can be categorized as mitigation.
