The house was inspired by bags -end, the house of Bilbo Baggins in JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit Book, the prequel of the Lord of the Rings.
But the fairy -tale ownership is not in the middle earth. Instead, it is in the heart of Culver City, the creative epicenter of Los Angeles, where there is an abundance of film studios.
The Hobbit House is part of a unique apartment campus with nine units, with a story book architecture that was designed and built in the 1940s by Disney artist, Lawrence Joseph, according to the Real Estate List of the Sher Group.
