More than 600 schools will close tomorrow in the midst of the threatening threat of Cyclone Alfred.
The Queensland Department of Education said that schools will close on Thursday and Friday in affected areas that influence more than 600 schools.
“Tropical Cyclone Alfred is expected to cross the coast of southeastern Queensland, either at the end of Thursday evening or early Friday morning,” said a spokesperson.
“We will continue to follow the weather conditions and, where necessary, take action to guarantee the safety of our students, staff and the broader community.”

“Schools are clearly open today, they will be closed tomorrow and Friday,” said Queensland David Crisafulli Crisafulli.
Buses and trains will come to a halt on Wednesday evening With services that have to be canceled on Thursday and Friday in southeastern Queensland, in the midst of the Cycline.
In NSWThe Cycloon has caused the closure more than 100 public schools, including Casino, Chatsworth Island, Gulmarrad, Gwabegar, Leeveville, Evans River and Drake Public Schools.

Schools will resume the operation on Monday 10 March.
“We don't want people to be in a dangerous situation or vulnerable situation for the next 48 hours,” said NSW Prime Minister Chris Minns.
Supervision is available for parents who have to drop off their children.
Catholic schools in the north of NSW are also closed and more closures are expected tomorrow.
