Eurostar passengers have been hit with major disruption today after the discovery of an unexploded Second World War bomb resulted in all trains being cancelled between London and Paris.
Initially it was hoped some services between the European capitals could resume this afternoon but Eurostar have since confirmed the suspension would remain in place throughout Friday.
It means thousands of passengers have been left stranded on either side of the Channel scrambling to make alternative travel arrangements.
A Eurostar spokesperson said the bomb was discovered during work on tracks in the St Denis area, north of central Paris.

We would have thought there would be more Eurostar staff, to be honest. We’re looking up flights, but our options are limited.
