Princeton -Murder victim Joseph Hertgen received a hair -raising warning about his older brother, just a few hours before his creepy death, according to newly revealed judicial documents.

Matthew Hertgen, 31, is accused of using a knife and a golf club to kill his 26-year-old brother in Princeton, New Jersey, apartment of the family on 22 February.

Newly revealed judicial documents suggest that Joseph, a former university football player at the University of Michigan, was sent a warning message by his other brother just before his unimaginable death.

The surviving brother, whose name has not been revealed, said Joseph through text that their brother Matthew struggled with 'his visions' and contacting him if he needed help.

Joseph later replied: “Will Do,” on the alarming message of his brother.

Only hours later, around 11:16 pm, the police responded to a call from 911 by Matthew who reported a fire and the dead body of his brother in the Michelle Mews Apartments Complex.

When a Matthew coordinator asked how his brother was injured, he said, “I am no longer going into details,” is the likely cause of cause.

The police arrived and found Matthew in the residence together with his brother's body, which had significant injuries – including a missing eye – as well as injuries to Joseph's chest and upper body.

They also found a cup of blood with 'blood invented' utensils and a plate, the likely cause document states.

Researchers also discovered a deceased cat on an Ottoman that appeared partly in the Princeton apartment.

Also revealed in the likely cause of statement, obtained by FOX News Digital, the surviving brother is said to spend time with his disturbed brother or sister before the alleged murder.

The unnamed brother apparently told the police that Matthew 'had suffered serious mental disorders in the last five years'.

“He further explained that when he spoke to Matthew earlier that day, Matthew was extremely upset, was despondent and experienced frightening visions,” the document said.

“Want to help him, [the surviving brother] Matthew picked up at [redacted] At around 4.30 p.m. [The surviving brother] and Matthew went to the supermarket and then to [the surviving brother’s] Residence … where they stayed until around 10 p.m. '

The brother then drove Matthew back to his home, where he saw Joseph. After a short discussion, the surviving brother left and returned to his apartment.

In another heartbreaking development, about 45 minutes before Matthew 911 called to report the dead body of his younger brother, his surviving brother texted him and invited him to go on a walk the next day.

In addition to his indictment because of his murder, the accused murderer is confronted with extra charges, including two counts of possession of a weapon for illegal purpose and two counts of illegal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
