One agent is dead and another fights for his life after a shooting with a 14-year-old shooter who shot the police 29 times.
Bullets flew between pedestrians near a McDonald's and a white castle in Newark before the teenager was finally shot by other officers.
The shooting started around 6.30 pm on Friday around the intersection of Carteret Street and Broadway. What the firefight has fueled is not yet clear.
Both wounded officers were rushed to the University Hospital, where one of them, only 25 years old, was declared dead.
The other is 'fighting for his life' in a critical condition after he has been shot several times, said the benevolent association of the state of New Jersey State.
More come.
