Foreign prisoners now cost British taxpayers more than £ 1 million a day, have demonstrated official figures.
New data from the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) have revealed that around 10,500 foreign prisoners are being held in prisons in England and Wales, each of which costs more than £ 50,000 a year.
About 12 percent of all prisoners in the UK are in fact strangers.
Among the nationalities with the most prisoners in the UK, Albanians lead the unwanted league table with more than 1200 prisoners. Poland are second with 911, followed by Romanians (729), Irish (634) and Jamaicans (370).
About half of those prisoners has been convicted, while the other 50 percent are kept in pre -trial detention because they are considered too dangerous to release or because they are considered a risk risk.
An application for the freedom of information that was seen by De Telegraaf showed that violent crime is most common among prisoners from Poland, with 215. While Romanians were most likely involved in sex offens, with 88 prisoners.
Ireland was at the top of the table for theft (80) and theft (11), while Albanians were most likely to be imprisoned for drug offices, with 439 on these charges, four times more than any other nationality.
The MOJ has committed to spending £ 5 million on new front line -immigration staff to accelerate the removal of foreign prisoners.

They are planning to work in 80 prisons to remove a number of foreign perpetrators, to make the rising costs and the release of spaces in the already overcrowded prisons of Great Britain.
This new unit will be operational before 1 April and will also support the home office to identify and manage those who go through the immigration process, as a result of which criminals deport up to 18 months before the end of their custody.
Labor says that it had removed more than 2500 foreign criminals since last July.
Prisoners Minister Lord James Timpson said: 'It cannot be good for British taxpayers to pay the bill for prison sentence of foreign criminals who have brought misery to our communities.
“Under this government, the removals have risen by almost 20 percent. We are now taking action to ensure that this is done a swifter, so that the pressure on overcrowded prisons and the public wallet is relaxed.
“This is part of our plan for change – repairing the broken prison system that we inherited and keep our streets safe.”
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said that the removal of foreign criminals from prisons should be a priority and argued that countries that refuse to take back should be put on the blacklist for migrants who want to enter the UK from that country.
Jenrick said: 'That is the most important thing that we can do to clear the prison capacity. And how do you do that? Use every lever of the British state to put pressure on those other countries to take back their own criminals.
'Do things as stopping visa, do not give foreign help to those countries. If they do not take back their criminals, we should not support them. '

As mentioned earlier, strangers up to three times more likely to be arrested than British in parts of the country, according to data from the Office for National Statistics (us).

The 3,235 criminals who were liberated from the prison without being deported were behind 10,012 violations in the year until March 2022 – an increase of 25 percent on the last annual total of 8,021.
In the past four years of data – released by civil servants in a parliamentary question – foreign offenders were guilty of 40,000 crimes ranging from theft and drug trafficking to murder.
In addition to criminals who were released from prison and avoided deportation, the MOJ data also includes people who were previously deported before they return illegally to Great Britain.
