The police have seized £ 850,000 on cannabis of illegal factories in weekend attacks in Great Britain.

The police in Cumbria seized nearly 700 cannabis plants, worth £ 550,000, as part of a performance against 'commercial cultivation at industrial level'.

The medicines were torn away in areas, including Workington and Seaselnal.

Det Spt Hussey said: 'Criminals use more inventive ways to hide cannabis grows – not only in rooms, but also in the back of stores and in industrial environments where people go to work every day.

'These are illegal activities and are not subject to the usual rules that legitimate companies follow to protect property and people as such.

'Cannabis farms are very dangerous places and are a serious risk of fire.

'The electricity meter is often bypassed – and seriously overburdened electrical circuits run close to water -filled pipes.

“Plants that are grown at the top of a building can also ensure that floor plates rot, so that the danger of collapse is established.”

In the meantime, two men have been charged after the police had seized a huge £ 300,000 stock of cannabis during a house attack in Noord -Ireland.

The men, 22 and 32 years old, were charged after the enormous stock was found in a house in Hillsborough, County Down.

About 150 cannabis plants together with harvested cannabis and other items were seized by the police, who invaded the building around 10.30 pm yesterday.

The drugs, which, according to the police, have a street value of £ 300,000, have been removed for further investigation.

The men are accused of possession of a class B -controlled medicine, possession of a class B -controlled medicine with the intention of delivering and cultivating cannabis.

Damage to the property has also been caused, the police confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Noord -Ireland police service said: 'Our questions continue, but this operation shows that we are still dedicated to removing drugs from the local community and dealing with organized crime gangs involved in the production and delivery of controlled drugs.

“Damage has been caused to the immovable property concerned and I would encourage landlords and allow agents to ensure that they get appropriate identification when renting out properties and performing regular checks and reporting to the police everything that makes them worry.”

The attacks are amid a broader performance against national cannabis farms.

On Friday, the Hampshire police said they had seized 1,400 cannabis plants, as well as cash, telephones, weapons, growing and lighting equipment and eleven arrests made as part of Operation Mille, a national performance against large cannabis growing.

The police said that 48,328 cannabis plants, worth more than £ 48 million, have now been seized throughout the country as part of the years of operation.

Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) Adam Ball, who led the operation, said: 'Cannabis may seem harmless, but the production and subsequent sale have long fueled other serious crime activities, which in turn destroy our communities.

“It is links to the import of class A drugs, provincial lines and gangweld are common, as well as the alarming levels of exploitation that people fall victim to.”
