Hundreds of heads of academy chains are with a six -digit salaries – but the wage is justified by their performance, claims a report.
An academies' Rich List 'compiled by the TaxPayers' Alliance (TPA) shows 757 heads of Multi-Academy Trusts (Mats) receive more than £ 100,000 in total reward.
However, the investigation showed that the ten best-paid mat heads managed a total of 290 schools, with 264 assessed 'good' or 'excellent' by Ofsted.
The TPA said that although the government spending must 'always be investigated', the figures show that Academy Pay 'is linked to performance'.
The printing group also went to Labor's 'Assault' on the sector, after movements in the school account to the freedoms of CUB Academies.
Jonathan Eida, researcher at the TPA, said: 'Mat leaders supervise thousands of students, manage significant budgets and have a proven record to reverse struggling schools.
'Their strong performance in increasing standards means that many of these wage packages look justified.
“The government must acknowledge that these institutions largely deliver for taxpayers and have to take a step back from the current attack on their autonomy.”
The best paid head was Sir Dan Moynihan of the Harris Federation
Dr. Dayo Olukoshi from Brampton Manor Trust raised £ 335,000 in 2022-23
The figures, from 2022-23, show that the best-paid head of Sir Dan Moyni of the Harris Federation was, who earned £ 565,000 in salary and pension contributions.
However, he supervised 52 schools, 49 of which 'good' or 'excellent' assessed.
He supervised 40,649 students and made the costs per student of his fee £ 13.90.
This is also equal to £ 10,865 for every school, per year.
One of the top ten highest paid is Simon Beamish, Chief Executive and director of Leigh Academies Trust, whose total compensation was £ 370,000 in the same period.
Behind him is Dayo Olukoshi from Brampton Manor Trust, who won £ 335,000 in 2022-23.
Number four on the list is Delta Academies Chief Paul Tarn, who earned £ 310,768.
The average total reward of the 757 Academy Heads in 2022-23 was £ 156,491.

Academies are state schools that are free from the control of the council and that directly report to the Department for Education (DFE).
Multi-Academy Trusts are organizations that they run, with considerable freedoms about daily issues.
Paul west of the Spencer Academies, Ged Fitzpatrick by St. Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Academy and Carl Ward of City Learning were the following on the list, £ 295,000, £ 287,980 and £ 282,500 respectively.
And Star Academies Chief Executive and Trustee Hamid Patel brought in £ 282,500, while Alex Russell van Bourne Education saw £ 280,000.
Finally, the only woman from the list, Rebecca Boomer-Clark, took the tenth place with £ 275,000 in annual income.
The Academies program became enormously extensive under the Tories because they were in favor of less interference of the state.
However, Labor's bill would have them follow the national curriculum, employ qualified teachers and stay on the rules of the national teachers.

However, the government does not specifically focus on the wages of Academy Heads.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Education said: 'This government works together with our Vital Academy Trusts to stimulate high and rising standards for every child, so that they live where families live, have a good local school for their child.
“The well -being of our historical children and schools invoicing and plans for change help to deliver this mission, to get high -quality teachers in every classroom and to ensure that there is a floor on wages and not a ceiling, so that all teachers can rely on a nuclear supply and all schools can innovate to attract and retain the best talent.”
It is understood that there are no measures in the well -being of the children and schools that would limit the wages of the heads of academies.
A spokesperson for St. Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Multi-Academy Trust told MailOnline: 'When our former CEO, Ged Fitzpatrick, left in August 2023, it gave directors the opportunity to recapture the roles and responsibilities of the Senior Leadership Team of the Trust.
'A complete benchmarking exercise was also carried out against the developed job description.
“The renumeration package of our new CEO is 50 percent of that of the previous CEO.”
