Wendy Williams was hurried from her assisted residential facility on Monday, which she compared to a prison to undergo a cognitive evaluation in the Lenox Hill Hospital.
In dramatic scenes, the controversial talk show host, 60, was led to an ambulance after she had seen fans for help.
The media personality, who was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in May 2023, will undergo an investigation to determine whether she is good enough to end her custody.
Around 11:15 am Williams was taken to the hospital after he had dropped a note to Paparazzi, from her fifth floors room, with a desperate plea for help.
The handwritten note was: 'Help! Wendy !! '
According to family sources close to Williams, the move is seen as a relief for the star that regards the medical intervention as a rescue effort.
“The family has been waiting for many years today,” a source tells DailyMail.com.

A source told TMZ that 'a caregiver who is not associated with custody' ordered the journey and test for the legendary talk show in the midst of concern about her limited lifestyle.
It also recently revealed from the outlet that she had an interview with protective services for adults about her living conditions and that the protection services for adults brought in contact with her niece, Alex Finnie, about her custody.
Last month the star became emotional while she was 'locked up in a room' when she did a live telephone interview with Harvey Levin.
As she described her current living situation, she broke out in tears and pressed her hand against the window as she sobbed.
Speaking in TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy, which is available to stream on Tubi, Levin explained that filming the window of her room was the only way to do an interview with the star that she was allowed to have been allowed outside only twice in 30 days.
'Because we can't get a camera in it and they can't really have visitors. She can't go outside, “he noticed.
Levin continued: 'She has been out twice in the last 30 days. She has no internet, she … she feels like a prisoner. '

The documentary was filmed on a sidewalk under the facility where she is, with the camera up in her fifth story window, because the former talk show host may not have visitors.
In a fragment shared by the outlet, Williams said that her life is 'isolated' in the past year.
'[The people here are] In their 90s and 80s. I eat lunch and dinner in my bedroom, “she claimed. “I don't eat it with the people who live here, just because it is so damn depressing.”
She added: “There is a bathroom, there is a cupboard and the TV that I bought by the Guardian person.”
Levin wondered: “Can you go out?”
'No, no. I can't go out, “explained the star. “I can call you, but you can't call me.”
Williams stated that she 'asked the guardian person for an iPad [for] Years it looks like. But an iPad – can I please have my phone back? May I please call, you know, my family?

The clip just circulated when the beloved talk show host launched her next big attack on the guardianship that has kept her limited and largely away from her family and friends for the past two years.
Last month, Williams signed a statement in which she asked the judge to supervise her custody case to terminate the regulation.
In the legally binding document, Williams reportedly says that she has 'regained capacity' to function independently, and she says she no longer needs guardian to supervise her.
She had established a custody under the supervision of Sabrina Morrissey in 2022.

Williams still has her different steps before she can end custody, and the judge will eventually have to be influenced by her if she hopes to regain her freedom.
To do that, the former radio presenter will then try to prove that she does not have a frontotemporal dementia, contrary to how doctors had previously diagnosed her.
She on average in her explanation that she did not suffer from the neurological condition, and sources told TMZ that she will see a doctor for a new evaluation to confirm so much on Tuesday.
Frontotemporal dementia in particular is a permanent and progressive state, so the former Wendy Williams Show -Gastheer hopes that her apparent improvement in functioning will indicate that she cannot suffer from the disease.
Williams recently hired a new lawyer to help her end custody, and they were responsible for selecting the new doctor she will see.
According to the sources of the publications, her lawyer intends to submit an emergency assignment to show the day after the tests, which should force the judge to terminate custody.

Last month, Williams signed a statement in which she asked the judge to supervise her custody case to terminate the regulation.
She hopes that the judge will end it afterwards and there and end things, but if they refuse the request and keep custody as it is currently established, Williams is said to ask her case to go for a jury who can determine whether she is able to take care of herself and run her own finances without a Guardian figure.
The star started the year with a call to the breakfast club to argue for freedom of her custody and stopped claims that her continuous dementia struggle has made her 'permanent incapacitated for work'.
Wendy stated the shows of the shows: 'I am not cognitively disabled, but I feel that I am in prison. I am absolutely insulated.
'To talk to these people who live here, that's not my cup of tea. I keep the door closed. '
The former Wendy Williams Show -Gastheer described her strong difference in her daily life when she noticed: 'I watch TV. I listen to the radio. I look at the window. I am sitting here and my life passes. '
Wendy added that she no longer has the company of her pets cats and claimed that they have now 'disappeared' – claiming that they were taken despite her 'she wanted with her'.
The TV star revealed that she eventually hopes to move to Florida so that she can live there with her family.
For now, the star is simply aimed at being able to travel to Miami this month to celebrate the birthday of her beloved father.
The Wendy Williams Show was broadcast his last episode in June 2022 after 13 years – without the star appearing.
She retired earlier from the show in 2021 and started what initially had to be a temporary leave to tackle health problems.
