The lawyer's husband of a woman who was mysteriously found dead in his stairwell has been arrested about claims that he defeated her.

Adam Beckerink, 46, is confronted with charges of domestic violence and mistreatment of police officers connected to incidents in the New Buffalo house where Caitlin Tracey lived prior to her death.

Tracey, 36, was found dead in the stairwell of her tax lawyer husband Beckerink's apartment in Chicago on October 27 last year.

Beckerink was confronted with accusations of domestic violence from Tracey, but he has not been charged with her death.

He was arrested on Sunday in his South Loop -Huis on the excellent command of Michigan.

The Chicago-Sun Times reports that it was ordered to be extradited to the State due to alleged violation of pretrial circumstances.

During the hearing, the lawyer of Cook County Assistant State Danny Hanichak reportedly called him a suspect, although he has not been accused of the death of Tracey.

His lawyer Jonathan Brayman insisted that Beckerink “is absolutely the opposite of a fugitive out of justice,” while pointing out that he was being arrested at home.

Tracey's body was found 'crushed' and missed a foot in the stairwell of the luxury apartment of Beckerink, according to judicial documents seen by DailyMail.com.

The Chicago police hurried to the scene and held Beckerink, 46, who had missed his wife the day before. They released him after 48 hours without submitting the charges.

The authorities said she had died of injuries during a fall of 20 feet.

In the weeks that followed, retired Tracey's deeply saddened parents, retired real estate developer Andrew Tracey, 69, and Professor Dr. Monica Tracey, 65, against Beckerink for custody of the remains of their daughter.

Beckerink, a former partner of the international law firm Duane Morris, who was married to Tracey for six months, argued that he had the rights to her body as the surviving husband.

But on November 6, 2024, her family submitted documents who accused him of taking a 'campaign of abuse and terror' against their daughter, including throwing a glass pickle jar to her head and pouring vodka on her wounds.

To support their argument, the family established in Michigan presented a petition that has since been made to Cook County Court a year before she died in a desperate attempt to obtain a restrictive order against her husband.

In her file of 4 October 2023, Tracey described three examples of horrible attacks from the tax lawyer.

Her parents said, however, that Beckerink found out and threatened to sue her because of slander and defamation – so she withdrew her petition 'based on fear'.

Beckerink's lawyer Todd Pugh said he denies the claims of domestic violence. “There was no physical violence that Adam had focused on CT,” he told the Chicago Tribune.

“There is no confirmation for one of her claims. There was a layer of emotional volatility for the relationship, but CT enjoyed an incredibly close relationship with Adam's parents and Adam. '

Beckerink was dropped off from his role at the Duane Morris law firm in the midst of the scandal.
