An Alabama founder who was shot after he had entered his neighbor's ownership reached his waistband seconds before the homeowner opened fire, reveals new images.

Keith Sullivan has long maintained that he suspected that Greg Bagwell was armed when he shot him in the middle of the night at his door.

Sullivan was accused of the death of Bagwell, in what many of his supporters regard as an insult to the 'stand Your Ground' laws of the state.

However, prosecutors claim that the married father was wrong in the murder and shot Bagwell in the back while trying to leave the ownership of Grove Oak.

On Tuesday, a judge declared a mistrial after jury members were unable to reach a judgment in the case.

Sullivan's lawyers have now released surveillance images that show the seconds prior to the fight, played alongside Sullivan who tells the incident to the police.

“I took my gun there. When I went there, that was all when he turned that way, 'Sullivan can be seen that I am telling officers.

“He said,” Oh, I shouldn't “. He said, “Oh, someone told me I could be here” or whatever.

“And he turned around so much, and I thought, you know, based on what I heard the shotgun there, I said, I don't know what he has, so I just.”

The black -white images shows Bagwell on the veranda and seem to take a step back before he reaches his waistband.

A 911 call that is played to jury members also shows that Sullivan tells the same story about a dispatcher.

“He turned around and I thought he was going for something,” he tells the operator. “He said I went away, I left, but he turned around at the time and I thought he might go for something.”

Sullivan did not owe murder after he had been denied immunity under Alabama's stand Your Ground Law.

His lawyer Thomas Kenniff called the incident the “clearest example of stand Your Ground I ever seen” and shocked that his client was accused.

Bagwell was shot by Sullivan after he appeared on his veranda on 8 May 2023 around 2 a.m.

In the days before, Sullivan and other neighbors had reported him to the police because he acted irregularly.

Bagwell has a long rap sheet for arson, shooting at the houses of the neighbors, drugs and reckless threat.

An earlier band for him was only withdrawn for three days before he died.

Sullivan is a director of church music and teacher who has no criminal history. He was supported in court by his family and former students.

His defense team previously tried to have the process reject after a jury member arose, had not announced the office of the DA that a case continued to a person who is accused of selling his son a fatal dose of drugs with Fentanyl.

However, the motion was rejected and the deliberations, which started on Friday, continued until the jury stated that it was 'hopelessly bound' yesterday.

Judge Shaunathan Bell explained a mistrial because of the hung jury.

The public prosecutor has indicated that they are trying to try the case again, but no solid test date has been established.
