President Donald Trump said that Senate was minority leader Charles Schumer 'used to be Jewish' and called him a 'Palestinian' during an Oval Office -Diatribe Wednesday.
The comments suddenly came after he had torn the Democrats in the Democrats because he did not stand up and applauded during his speech to the congress.
He raised his earlier attack on senator Elizabeth Warren and called her 'Pocahontas' and generally went after Congresdemocrats because he could not embrace his economic proposals.
Then he quickly turned to Schumer, who has known Trump for years.
'Schumer is a Palestinian in my opinion. He has become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He is no longer Jewish. He is a Palestinian, “said Trump.
Trump, 78, did not say why he became Schumer, 74, who became a pronounced critic of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an ally of Trump. He made the comment earlier, also during the campaign, and has called him a 'proud member of Hamas'.
Schumer is Jewish and is not of Palestinian descent.
Schumer posted a nuanced statement on Tuesday about the arrest of the graduated student of ex-Columbia University, Mahmoud Khalil, after his arrest through immigration and customs enforcement.

“Schumer is a Palestinian for me,” said President Donald Trump on Wednesday in reference to Senator Charles Schumer (DN.Y.)
“Although he may be contrary to various campus rules with regard to how the protests were carried out last year, that is a matter of the university to pursue,” Schumer wrote.
Schumer also called on problems in the first amendment and wrote: “The DHS of the Trump administration must articulate any criminal prosecution or facts that would justify his detention or the initiation of deportation procedure against him.”
Schumer was a strong advocate of Israel after the terrorist attacks of 7 October in Israel.
The two men have known each other for years on the political scene of New York. Trump had donated $ 8,900 to Schumer before his run 2016 for President.
The Schumer office did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
