The police started an investigation after a man and woman were found dead in a house in Thapsmead.
The police were called on Tuesday shortly before 3 p.m. after the concern was expressed for the welfare people in an address in the London area.
Emergency services were present and had access to the building, where they discovered a man and woman with serious injury.
The couple was declared tragically on the spot.
Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, who leads the police work in Bexley, said: 'I know that many residents in the area wonder why the police are investigating within Holstein Way.
'We are currently investigating the death of two people, who were unexpected and inexplicable.

'At this early stage we work together with officers and local authorities to establish the circumstances around the dead.
'We believe that the two were known together, and at the moment we are not trying to talk to someone else in connection with this.
'A crime scene stays in place until we have carried out our questions. Thank you to those in the area for their patience. '
Their relatives have been informed and is supported by specialized officers.
