RaceHorse Springwell Bay died on the third day of the Cheltenham festival after a heavy fall.
Racing in the limited handicap of the Jack Richards This afternoon, eight-year-old Bay Velding had previously won the Betfair Exchange Handicap-Achtervolging on New Year's Day.
Commentator Ed Chamberlain announced the news on ITV and said: '
'Our sincere condolences are going to the connections of Springwell Bay. That is a sad finish of the race that was won by Caldwell Potter. '
