The dead body of a homeless woman in California was found in her van and found mutilated more than a month after the vehicle was seized.
Her deeply sad family has taken legal action – sue the city of San Diego for more than $ 50 million.
Monica Cameroni de Adams, 65, slept in the van parked in Clairemont when a drunken driver, Jordan Lopez, 25, hit her in November 2023.
But when the damaged van was dragged off the stage, no one realized that the victim was inside. She suffered and struggled enormously until she died, the court case claims.

“The face was unrecognizable because of the condition of her body,” the medical investigator wrote, CBS 8 reported.

The family also claims that they did not see the results of the autopsy of Cameroni de Adams only about a year after it was preformed.
In November 2023, Lopez was arrested from the stage with an alcohol content in the blood of more than three times the legal limit, according to CBS8. He reportedly told officer Mathew Brace that he “had made an oopsie.”
After the crash, Brace claimed that he tried to contact the registered owner of the van before he had it and dragged Lopez's car.
“Those two parked vehicles were removed via private drags, from the street because they were filled with real estate, and I wanted to avoid vandalism or thefts from the inside,” is Brace's report, according to CBS8.
Lopez has been charged with the death of Cameroni de Adams. He agreed with a plea and is confronted with six years in prison and five years of probation. His conviction is planned for March 19.
