The boyfriend of teen Holly Newton, who was stabbed to death by her jealous ex, pronounced for the first time and revealed that he “blames himself.”
Alan Lawson, now 18, tried to save Holly desperately and place Killer Logan Machaill in a headlock, which was stabbed four times in January 2023.
He was on a date with Holly, 15, in Hexham, Northumberland, when MacPhail – then 16 – launched his deadly rampage and raged 36 knife wounds on his ex, including 12 stabbing wounds.
Alan, who was exchanged at the same school as Holly and reports with her on Instagram, met the teenager before their first official date on the day she died.
The couple walked into the city from school and stopped at a pizza balast when Machail Holly approached and lured her before she attacked her.
Alan, who struggled with MacPhail before he got help, said to the sun: “I was devastated. I didn't think about myself, I thought of Holly and her family.
“I have no thoughts for him. I am disgusting. I never thought anyone could do that to another person. I blame myself a bit. I am sorry I could not have done anymore.
“What else could I have done? Rent through my thoughts. '

Her mother Micala Trussler had been so concerned about his behavior that she arranged a meeting with police officers later that day – but Holly was killed before she could be present.
