Golf icon John Daly has praised the influence of President Donald Trump to terminate the civil war of the sport between the PGA Tour and Liv.
There are still conversations going on about a merger between the original tour and the Breakaway League with Saudi-supported Breakaway League, after many of the world's top players have crossed in the aftermath of offers with a big money from the new boy in the block.
In recent months, Trump has tried to mediate conversations between the two parties, to hold meetings in the White House, and PGA Tour icon Daly, 58, has now praised the president – even played with a new nickname.
'I just want Jay [PGA Tour commissioner Monahan]And thank goodness that Dad Trump is involved, because I want it to train.
'Because I have friends on the PGA Tour and the Liv tour, and I want them all just playing. The best players have to play. '
In fact, Daly – who is now his trade on the PGA Champions Tour – believes that there is a simple solution to the problem created by two rival tours.

Speaking of the newsmax show 'Rob Schmitt Live', he said: “We are obliged, we have to play in 15 events a year during the PGA Tour. Our Champions tour is a little less, but to maintain our insurance and to keep our 401Ks, our pension plans.
'But you know, hey, if those guys want to go to Liv and they want to pay them a lot of money, you will play 29 tournaments because you have to play 15 during our tour, and you have to play 14 on theirs. That is the end of the solution. Let's go golf.
'Golf is a worldwide game and everyone should get the chance to play … you were born, you live and what is it for? To ensure that you take care of your family. Liv Golf takes care of the families of some people, and that is the way I look at it. '
In anticipation of this week's players' championship in Florida, PGA Tour Chief Monahan gave an update about the current state of conversations.

The discussions have been underway since June 2023 when the first news of a shock fusion between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi -Arabia was created.
All parties met last month in the White House with Trump and Monahan revealed: 'We are Doing everything we can to bring the two parties together.
'That said, we will not do this in a way that reduces the power of our platform or the very real momentum we have with our fans and partners.
'Although we have removed some obstacles, others remain. But just like our fans, we still share the same sense of urgency to reach a resolution. Our team is fully committed to reunification. '
