It is a bleak selection on Sunday while the college basketball world continues to mourn to mourn the passing of CBS Sports' Greg Gumbel from last year.
But even without the voice of the annual television event, teams and fans in the entire country on Sunday still voted in CBS to hear that Auburn was the top-overal seed and is on their way to the South region.
Of course Duke is the second number 1 seed and goes to the East region. The Blue Devils managed to win the ACC tournament again, despite an ankle injury at the top NBA Prospect Cooper Flagg.
Auburn is a small favorite above Duke to win the national championship, with Florida and Houston not far behind, according to Betmgm Sportsbook. UConn will make the tournament and try for a three-level as a national champion, something that has not been done since the early 1970s, while Big East Champion St. John's is back as one of the top teams in the country under experienced coach Rick Pitino.
