Young school children fight against a fly-tip 'Monstrosity' next to their school in Glasgow, where parents are afraid to let children play in a 'dangerous off-leaf'.

Pupils from Riverbank Primary School have set up their own petition to draw attention to the 'obscene' dumping problem in which people have thrown away soups of clothing, dirty mattresses, dangerous materials, discarded drug parafernalia, gas buses, bottles of urine and sharp shards of glass'.

Fatima Alashinloye, 11, developed the school project to clean up the waste after seeing the 'dangerous' and 'terrible' mess she and her classmates are forced to be nearby.

She said that her friends who live next to the school, rats, papers, gas bottles, mattresses, sheets and bottles of urine 'see every morning.

After he took pictures of the 'disgusting' mess on her iPad, Fatima went to her class and spoke about what they can do to arrange the 'Wangdrocht'.

“It's not just a thorn in the eye, but a real health danger,” said their petition.

“How can we hope to concentrate on our education and to play if we seem to be in an epicenter of a waste crisis?”

Tired of the 'intimidating environment that has been imposed on us', the students hope that their petition 'this' department 'will transform into a cleaner, more community and environmentally friendly space'.

Fatima, often accompanied by her sister Aisha, 9, and Asyah, 6, said she 'absolutely hated' to walk around the 'real, really disgusting' waste.

Various parents and carers are so close to their children in the same way about the safety of the landfill.

Leanne Smith said that her granddaughter was in P3, the other week found a dead cat under the 'mess'.

“Children like to come out and run and his children,” she said.

Mrs. Smith's mother -in -law lives on the other side of the road and had a Burst tank last month because the rats thrive on the 'off -leaf' and have 'flooded'. The area had chewed through her legs.

“It's a mess, an absolute mess and it's dangerous,” she said, “you don't know what else is there.”

Sumbal Fahad, whose son is in primary two, said that all the glass bottles that are littered are 'not safe for the children, because they just see it all and they just want to explore and see what it is'.

The Belvedere -Lokale added that it was not healthy for the school to have so much waste in the area – I am clearly not happy with this'.

Students' petition asks City Legacy, which owns the piece of land, to “make a proactive deterrence of illegal dumping, immediate clean -up operations and renewal efforts for the area.”

City Legacy said they “worked with the Glasgow city council and other stakeholders to tackle this issue.”

They also promised 'exciting plans for further private and affordable homes on the site'.

SNP MSP John Mason said that the new houses would be 'the answer to the current problems'.

Because the fly-tipping takes place on private land, it is the owner's responsibility to maintain their property, but assured that the council will intervene if it becomes 'dangerous'.

“Hopefully we will see building starting soon and that is the real answer to this problem,” he added.

William Johnston, 77, said that his area had become a 'dump' since the Commonwealth Village.

'When the games started, you could bake an egg on the sidewalk, it was so clean, but now she doesn't care.

“It's a mess, an absolute mess and it's dangerous,” said Mrs. Smith, “you don't know what else is there”

They also said that the responsibility for cleaning up the waste depends on who the country has where the waste was dumped.

“At the time, they promised everything, sturgeon, the councilors, they promised all kinds of stores.

“We don't have a store. We don't have a post office. They removed the post office where the postbox is now, and the shops, the chicken run, the butchers went. There is nothing. '

Mr. Johnston had seen people with trucks full of waste driving to the Green and 'just dumping on the sidewalk or a little reserve soil'.

By the time he reported it, they drove away.

Sarah Hall, whose daughter Millie is in P4 in Riverbank, said there is a problem with people entering the area and dumping the waste – 'you name it, it is there'.

When the football is switched on, dumping glass bottles is worse, the 28-year-old added.

Sarah Hal, with her daughter Millie, said that the area had become 'running' in 2014 since the Commonwealth Games in 2014

“They are now staying away from this area, because the children take all the waste and burn,” said Mrs.

The Glasgow city council said that they are 'hopeful' that the drainland would be released in the very near future and work together with the developers and the schools 'to better maintain the site in the future'.

They added: “The students of Riverbank Primary are passionate about the environment and we are proud that they take action to improve their local community.”

Although originally from Bridgeton, Mrs. Hall has been living on the other side of Riverbank and said that she saw the decline of the council support since the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

“They don't make any trouble about the area anymore,” she said, that's why they had it “run”.

“They are now staying away from this area, because the children take all the waste and burn.”

Kayley Downs also thought that the problem had gotten worse over the years.

“People don't care and are just tilting, even though the school tries to clean up.”

The 38-year-old said that her children want to jump instinctively on the placed bed, but she must remind them that it is not safe.

Ben added that he “doesn't feel good about the mess.”

“They have to clean it up. It is the worst thing I have seen and I think it is dangerous. '

Scott Stewart, 45, whose son Grayson, three, will go to school after nursery, said the area was intended to be developed as a second phase of the Commonwealth Village.

'They start testing the site and there are plans, but it is now a mess. It is an absolute landfill. '

Jigarr Muchhala, 39, whose six-year-old son Kiaan goes to Riverbank, said that the country “had become a dump yard is dog everywhere”.

“Where we walk, it's there,” he sighed and felt “angry that nothing is being done.”
