A young man who has slaughtered six members of his family has been sentenced to 360 years in prison.
Jury members found Raymond Childs III in October to kill his relatives during a bloody rampage in Indianapolis on January 24, 2021, when he was 17 years old.
Now 20, Childs has been convicted of killing his father, stepmother, older brother, younger sister, the girlfriend of his pregnant older brother and future cousin.
They were respectively identified as Raymond Childs Jr., 42, Kezzie Childs, 42, Elia Childs, 18, Rita Childs, 13, Kiara Hawkins, 19, and her unborn child Khaos Hawkins.
Marion County Officer Ryan Mears said that the shooting came from the child who broke his curfew and his father punishes him in their meadows, Indianapolis, according to the Sacramento Bee.
“What happened inside that at home is just as incomprehensible today as in 2021,” said Mears after the conviction, according to the outlet.
“It has been an incredibly difficult journey for the family and friends of the six people we have lost tragically.”
Childs showed little expression on Tuesday during his condemnation session, while he was wearing a light blue shirt and a checkered tie. His five -day trial ended in October 2024 with convictions about all six murder counts, as well as one census of attempted murder.
Prosecutors said he collapsed the house and opened the fire on his family with a Draco 7.62 gun and a 9mm gun, in which almost everyone was killed on his path, including Kiara's unborn child, who would be delivered only two days later.

“To see him behind bars for the rest of his life, that would be justice for me,” said Roniqua Hawkins, Kiara's deeply sad mother, 13News when the trial began.

The then girlfriend of the murderer later told that he left in a Uber and then returned somewhere before 3 o'clock the next day to her house in a white Chrysler that she said she had never seen him riding before.
About 30 minutes after Childs III returned to her house, JD said she got an alert on her phone on a shooting on Adams Street. She asked him if he knew something about it and he said no.
Later in the morning JD said she convinced Childs III to go to the crime scene and said he seemed “nervous.” When they both came there, he started crying and “acted a clown,” she said.
They then went back to her house, where he grabbed part of his clothes and asked her to drive him to another house.
After she had dropped him off, JD said she saw a gun flying out of the pile of clothing that had been left on the floor Childs III.
Childs III was arrested at the house of a family member a day after the murders after his brother identified him as the shooter.
The gun was found from the parental home and the draco -fire weapon was found after Childs III was arrested, said Marion County public prosecutor Ryan Mears.

“It is really complicated, it really hurts,” said Sullivan, whose relationship with the Child's family is unclear.

On July 23, 2024, a judge declared a mistrial at the first process of Childs III after a witness verbally confronted the now convicted murderer, AP reported.
The process was closed after three hours of deliberation by the jury in a courthouse in Marion County.
