West Virginia-that the nation leads in chronic diseases to sign the 'strongest' ban on cancer-linked toxic foods.
The legislators in the Bergstaat said today in a press conference that they are 'extremely confident' that the Governor will sign HB2354, which will prohibit nine dyes and additives from schools and later throughout the state.
If signed in the law, HB2354 prohibits the sale of products with Red 3, Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3, Butylated Hydroyanisole (BHA) and Propylparaben.
The additives, which are linked to behavioral problems and reproductive damage, would be prohibited at schools from August 2025 just before the start of the new school year.
The sale of each product that contains this additives would be prohibited from January 2028, one year after the national prohibition of the FDA on the dye red 3.
Governor Patrick Morrisey, a Republican, has not yet signed HB2354 in the law, although legislators said they 'have all the indications' that he will do this this week.
Senator Jason Barrett and delegate Evan Worrell, both Republicans, said they were inspired by the newly chosen health leader Robert F Kennedy Jr's 'Make America Remory Again' (Maha) movement, who has been able to combat Ultra -Processed Foods and Synetic Chemicals.
They said that if the bill has been signed, this will be the 'strongest ban on food paint in the country'.

Senator Jason Barrett (left) and representative Evan Worrell, both Republicans, said that the proposed bill of West Virginia would be the strictest in the nation and called on more states to request a similar legislation
It follows a similar legislation of states such as California, which forbids six dyes in foods served in schools.
Scott Faber, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at Environmental Working Group, a non -profit organization that works on the bill, said: “Everyone agrees that food should be safe.
'West Virginia is at the forefront when it comes to the safety of the food chemicals that we eat.
“West Virginia will have the safest food in the nation.”
The legislation also comes when West Virginia has one of the highest percentages of obesity and mental health disorders, such as ADHD in the country, which are bound to synthetic food ingredients.

Red 40 and Red 3 are in various popular sweets, soft drinks and chips – including Doritos, Skittles and Pepsi – as well as baked products and cake mix.
The FDA prohibited Red 3 from Foods earlier this year, with the assignment to come into force in January 2027.
Geel 5, also known as tartrazine, is linked to potential triggers for hyperactivity in children and potential DNA damage based on some studies.
It is known that snacks such as Doritos, Saps, Cookies and Pickles Yellow 5 contain in it.
Likewise, Yellow 6 – found in sugar -like breakfast cereals such as Lucky Charms and Cap'n Crunch – and Blue 1 – can cause gummy bears – often found – hyperactivity and inattention in children.
Blauw 2 – Consistent in sports drinks – and green 3 – found in canned vegetables and salad dressings – appear to cause increased tumor growth in animals, in particular in the bladder and testes.
Butylated hydroxyanisol (BHA) and propyl parabs are found in many foods, including butter, beer, vegetable oils, chips and salted meat such as ham.
BHA is considered a carcinogen and has been shown to promote tumor growth and hinders blood clotting. It also acts as an endocrine disruptor and is associated with the underdevelopment of the reproductive system.
Propylparaben has also been shown to act as an endocrine disruptor.

Worrell believes that the removal of dyes can help with tackling growing behavioral problems such as ADHD.
He said: 'We have a number of behavioral problems in our school system. I will not all point them to food paint, but it is a contributing factor. '
West Virginia has diagnosed the second highest percentage of mental disorders such as ADHD in children. These disorders affect 26 percent of children from three to 17 years in the state.
Worrell also noted that he was inspired to introduce the bill after viewing the documentary to Dye, which looks at the health effects of dyes.
He said that he and his wife, who regards herself as a 'maha mother', have since removed all the dyes from their house with their seven children.
'My wife is a maha mother, [Senator Barrett’s] Wife is a Maha mother, “said Worrell.
The legislators said they recently also met RFK JR, who led the indictment to prohibit ultra-processed foods and synthetic dyes.
Worrell said: 'These synthetic dyes do nothing about the taste or nutritional value. They are only for color. '
Various states such as California and New York have proposed that the food paint of food paint, although the West -Virginia legislators said that their bill will be the strictest in the nation if they are adopted.
Barrett called on other states to introduce similar bills that prohibit dyes and additives, because he believes it could inspire a national ban such as in countries such as Canada and the UK.
He said: 'If we are going to protect food, we have to do it ourselves.
'West Virginia likes to lead on this front. We don't think we'll be the last. '
