Donald Trump reportedly supported Vladimir Putin's proposal to organize hockey games between the US and Russia on American soil.
The two leaders held a long -term telephone discussion on Tuesday, in which Putin agreed with a proposal from Trump that Russia and Ukraine no longer attack energy infrastructure for more than 30 days.
The Kremlin announced that they also discussed the possibility of the two countries that participated in hockey competitions in the US, amid the current ban of the international competition.
Last month it was announced that Russia and Belarus will remain frozen from international ice hockey federation in the 2025-26 season.
The IIHF decision includes all world championships and effectively next year's Olympic Winter Games in Italy, although the International Olympic Committee has the last word.
“It is not yet safe to reinforce Russian and White Russian national and club teams,” said the IIHF, because “current security conditions do not allow the necessary requirements for the organization of tournaments that guarantee the security of all.”
