- Infectious Case visited Sydney locations
Health authorities have issued an urgent warning after a traveler from Vietnam has returned and spent time in Sydney while they had measles.
Anyone who was at Jetstar Flight JQ62 at 940 hours from Ho Chi Minh to Sydney to Sydney, and in the Sydney Airport baggage the next day told to check for symptoms.
The person with measles also went to Ooshman Maroubra on Pacific Square and 169 Cafe in Randwick on March 10.
Between 13 and 15 March they went to the Matraville Medical Complex, Healthsave Pharmacy and the Prince of Wales department.
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Director of Public Health Dr. Vicky Sheppeard said that everyone who was in the above locations could be jeopardized at the same time as the infectious case.
“Measles is a vaccine disease that is spread by the air when someone who is infectious cough or sneezes,” Dr. Sheppear.
'Symptoms to pay attention are fever, runny nose, painful eyes and a cough, usually three or four days later followed by a red, flavoring rash that spreads from the head to the rest of the body.
'It can take up to 18 days for symptoms to appear after an exposure, so it is important for people who have visited these locations to look forward to symptoms until 2 April 2025.

“If they develop symptoms, they have to call ahead to their doctor or emergency care to ensure that they do not spend time in the waiting room with other patients.”
There is a continuous outbreak of measles in Vietnam, with nearly 40,000 cases this year.
This is the second infectious thing that arrives from Vietnam in New South Wales in as many weeks, with another traveler with measles who will also be at Sydney Airport on 10 March.
In Victoria, it is now assumed that various new cases have been contracted in Bali.
