Actress Aubrey Plaza was separated from her husband Jeff Baena months before the director committed suicide in Los Angeles, DailyMail.com confirmed.
According to an autopsy report that was released on Wednesday by the La County Medical Examiner, Plaza and Baena broke up in September 2024.
Baena was found dead on January 3 in the former marital house of the pair in LA, where the director still lived. Plaza has been living in New York since their divorce.
A dog walker found Baena's body hanging on a staircase in the entrance of the house, the report said. He was 47.

A researcher who spoke with Plaza, whose name was edited from the report, wrote that the actress spoke with her alienated husband the night before he committed suicide.
“She confirmed that she had been divorced from her husband Jeffrey Baena since September 2024,” the researcher wrote. 'In October 2024, Baena made comments [Plaza] Who led her to call a friend to perform a welfare check on her husband. Baena has lived to therapy since that event. '
According to the report, no alcohol or drugs were found in the Baena system.
No suicide letter was found, but a mobile phone was in one step between the vertical rails of the upper staircase, a researcher wrote.
The director had no history of earlier suicide attempts, but he had a history of having sleeping.
The report also noticed that Plaza 'knew her husband to live' when he sent her an SMS message that morning.
The dog Walker, whose name was also edited from the report, the researchers told that she arrived on January 3 around 10:25 am to walk the dog of Baena as usual.
“She heard loud music from the house, which was unusual,” the researcher wrote. '[The dog walker] Unlocked the front door and discovered the deceased who hung on the stairs in the entrance.

Baena came in film after he graduated from New York University with a film diploma and moved to LA to launch his career.
He worked low jobs for great directors, including Robert Zemeckis and David O. Russell, found his foot in the industry. He worked as a production assistant for Zemeckis and as an assistant editor for Russell.
