- Nicholas Campbell accused of sexual violence
A music teacher from Queensland will be tried for the reportedly sexual abuse of a child in 1996.
Nicholas Campbell, 54, is currently working at Matthew Flinders Anglican College in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast, but his alleged insult relates to his time at another school.
He appeared on Wednesday in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court accused of three counts of worsened sexual violence in which the victim was under the authority of the perpetrator.
He received bail and will be against the court in Grafton NSW on 14 April.
Public Prosecutors said that the charges with regard to an alleged student teacher relationship, the ABC reported.
Two of the alleged incidents took place on the same day, while a different place took place later that month.
The prosecutor was against bail, and described Campbell's alleged insults as 'serious' and said it was concerned about his mental health.
Campbell's lawyer said he was aware of the complaint since 2020 when it was expected that it would claim as a civil case.

The court heard that Campbell had not heard of it since then and was surprised when the police appeared to him on Wednesday morning.
The lawyer said that he was 'highly regarded' at his current school where he worked as a department head.
He had no criminal history and this was the only complaint against him as a teacher, the lawyer added.
Matthew Flinders Anglican College said that “all allegations with regard to employees were taken seriously.”
“We will collaborate with authorities and follow our university policy and processes,” said it in a statement.
“Our priority remains the safety and well -being of our students, staff and community.”
