A manhunt was launched after a suspect escaped from a prison bus on the way to court.
Jamie Cooper, 33, from Blackpool, is described as 5ft 7in, from a medium build with short hair.
He was last seen in a blue jacket, jeans and black trainers.
Officers received reports about a man who this morning at 8.54 am on the M55 of a geoamey -prison bus on the M55 on the M55.
The vehicle supervised prisoners to the Lancaster Magistrates Court at the time of the incident.
A police spokesperson said: 'We know that this might be about hearing, but we want to reassure you that incidents such as these are extremely rare in Lancashire and it is something that we take incredibly seriously.
