Country Music fans remained in floods of tears about the moving gesture of Carrie Underwood during the performance at OPRY 100: A Live Celebration in Nashville, TN on Wednesday.
The 42 -year -old Country Crooner brought tribute to her mentor Randy Travis by singing two of his songs -three wooden crosses and forever, amen -who she concluded by him in the crowd in the Ryman Auditorium of Grand Ole Optry in Serenade.
Carrie suddenly held the microphone in front of the face of the 65-year-old national vet and he sang the last 'Amen', causing the crowd to stand up for a spontaneous ovation during the broadcast that was broadcast live on NBC/Peacock.
Randy's ability to communicate was seriously influenced by his aphasia diagnosis after an almost fatal stroke in 2013.
Underwood then bowed for a hug from Travis, who was proud of the powerful three-pole soprano pipes of his former student.
17 years earlier, the six-fold Grammy winner surprised the eight-time Grammy winner in the same phase by inviting her to be inaugurated 'in the family'.
