A diver was found dead in a notorious underwater labyrinth after disappearing during a trip.
The police were called to Twin Caves in the Blue Springs recreational area in Florida on Tuesday after three people could not return to the surface on time.
Rescue teams dived quickly and dragged two of them out of the complex cave at around 1.15 pm on safety on Tuesday.
But the third diver, who is not called, was found dead in the system. The coroner works on determining the cause of death.
Sheriff Donnie Edenfield thanked Jackson County Fire & Rescue, Florida Fish and Wildlife, and the staff of Cave Adventures for their help with the rescue.
He also insisted on the community to 'keep the families of the divers in your thoughts and prayers'.
The double caves are located on the bottom of Merritt's Mill Pond, located in a park in Marianna, about 65 miles northwest of Tallahassee.
According to Cave Atlas, the two caves are about 88 ft removed from the swimming platform in the human pond made by humans.

Merritt's Mill Pond is a popular swimming and diving place because of the clear, light blue water and lack of vegetation.
The Twin Caves system extends hundreds of feet and has three passages that fall to even greater depths, reports Cave Adventures.
The cave descends in phases that go from 20 ft to 100 ft deep and up to 3000 ft underground. It also has several 'Jump Tunnels' that run in wider tunnels.

CAVE Adventures warns that the system is a 'low -power cave' that can easily be filled or blocked with sludge if divers are not careful.
The cave is also very tight, whereby civil servants notice: “If you get nervous in small places, this is not the passage for you.”
