When Matt Le Tissier appeared this week Gary Lineker, he insisted: “He is not the angel he liked to portray as,” it would have been easy to reject this as just a flare -up in a long -running feud between two former football stars in England.
Le Tissier submitted his provocative claim when he appeared on a podcast this week, and if he was asked to qualify this claim, he would only add stomaching: 'We will probably probably [only] Discover all these things after Gary died … “
But the spit let football fans all asked the same question: what were these 'skeletons' exactly that Le Tissier suggested that the match of the Daghost is probably hidden in his closet that could somehow put his reputation in danger?
Because, just as he managed to continue his entire gaming career without receiving a yellow or red card, so in his enormously successful media career, because Lineker has searched to often become a scandal or controversy without ever getting his marsorders.
And this includes a fairly complicated love life that took place in the public eye that other football players may have won a bad reputation – but who has never infected the former golden boy of English football.
During his 16-year-old football career he had a relationship with childhood love Michelle Cockayne. They married in 1986 and were married for 20 years, with four sons, before they finally split.
Shortly before the split it was reported that Lineker and a brunette changed 'steaming' texts and that Lineker had complained about his marriage, predictively that it would be over in six months.

Michelle submitted a divorce in May 2006 on the basis of Gary's unreasonable behavior.
Judicial documents claimed that Lineker's actions had caused her 'stress and fear'.
Not long after, Lineker was associated with a model that worked to promote a golf tournament – reportedly sending flirty messages again.
Kate Hallam, who was 23 when she met Lineker, said they spent a blissful six months together, including candlelight dinners in top restaurants in London and pleasant nights in his home in Surrey at the time.
It all came to an end after a friend came across the messages that were public through a Sunday newspaper.
He broke down by ignoring all further attempts to contact him.
In 2006 it also appeared that Wealthy Denise Moore, when 47, broke up with her husband of 23 years after she was linked to the football player.

Mrs Moore was depicted with Sunbathing topless next to Lineker during a holiday in Barbados.
Her husband Graham insisted that rumors that his wife had a relationship with the star were false.
Lineker then found love with model and actress Danielle Bux, who is his junior for 18 years.
They married in Italy in September 2009, but divorced in 2016, reportedly about various views on expanding their families.
The couple remained good friends and was photographed to eat together in the night of the broadcast of the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year show that he had previously organized for 23 years.
Lineker, who also leaves at the end of the season, has been opened about his personal life since his split by Danielle.
In 2021 he told The Times in 2021 that he was less interested in intimacy as he gets older and says: 'I am still single. I'm not going that route! I have been there before and tried to explain myself and I was slaughtered by my friends. '
Despite the fact that he is happy and free from dating apps, Lineker does not fully exclude the possibility of another romance.

Thinking about his earlier relationships, he said, “I have been married for most of my adult life.”
He added two really good marriages, I am friends with both. Danielle is a kind of my best partner, so I have that female connection with her. I don't say it will change. It could do. But the moment I feel very comfortable. '

The couple went to the popular Dorian Restaurant in Notting Hill, West -Londen, where Mrs. Bartell's art studio is located.
Mrs Bartell, who had previously studied rights, is thought that it is mid -40s, now describes himself as a 'London painter and film director'.
It was around that time that Lineker seemed to have solved one controversy who had threatened to damage his reputation when he arranged a long-term £ 4.9 million tax-bill struggle with HMRC.
Lineker and Danielle were mentioned in December as part of the dispute dates from 2013.
Friends told how a profession had been withdrawn against an earlier judgment 'and the case decided'.

In March 2023, the Tax and Customs Administration appealed against a court decision that ruled in the Left's benefit of the benefit of the enormous tax assessment.
The Tax Man claimed that he should have been classified as an employee of the BBC and BT -Sport for his presentations between 2013 and 2018, rather than as a freelancer.
HMRC quoted legislation known as IR35, designed to increase tax avoidance by so -called disguised employees who charge their services through limited companies.
Last year a row broke out after Lineker was again accused of violating BBC guidelines – by wearing his own range of subsequent men's clothing during the opening of the Euros of England.
Lineker was dressed in a light green T-shirt and sage jacket while presenting the cover of the England's match against Serbia at Euro 2024 that was broadcast to nearly 15 million viewers.
It later appeared that the £ 55 jackets were made by poor employees in Bangladesh who received a pathetic 44p per hour for their efforts.
Le Tissier, 56, is no stranger to controversy himself. He was extracted by Sky in 2020 and later blamed his reluctance to bear a Black Lives Matter-badge in the air because he did not support the anti-capitalist views of the group.

He is also accused of spreading conspiracy theories about social media of issues ranging from the Ukraine war to Covid -vaccines.
And it's not the first time he is focused on Lineker. In 2023 he told GB News: 'I can tell you that Gary Lineker is not a saint, in no way, form or shape.
'There are few of us in the neighborhood who are saints. I am not a saint, we have all made mistakes in our lives, but we are not all virtue signals as far as Mr Lineker does.
'I don't even have to introduce myself, there are quite a few skeletons in the closet of Gary over the years. He clearly has some friends in very high places that have protected him, there are not two ways. '
The moment the feud between the couple had taken a new turn after Lineker was taken out of the air when he compared the then conservative government with Nazis with regard to their 'immeasurably cruel' asylum policy in a tweet.
It led to a strike by fellow presenters and commentators in solidarity and Lineker was quickly restored before the BBC was forced to clarify his editorial guidelines with regard to impartiality.
Le Tissier now seems to indicate that he has more information – thanks to another controversial figure of the game.
He said to Podcasthost Rob Moore this week: 'Ask Joey Barton! View Joey Barton's feed, where he tries Gary Lineker and challenges Gary to come back and try it. And Gary will not try him because Gary knows that he is not as pure as driven snow. '

Controversial football player Joey Barton has also called Lineker in the past

Although Lineer's political attitude on social media has given his critics to his critics, he remained a non -controversial figure during his match days.
He scored 48 goals during 80 performances for England and played for Leicester City, Everton, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur before he finished his career in Japan.
He was' Mr. Nice Guy 'Van Football – A Captain of England who then became one of the largest goal scorers in the country, while maintaining a squeaking clean image on and next to the field.
It is fair to say that Lineker, 64, has praised much more controversy since he hangs his boots with the competition of the day presenter who lands in hot water about his 'virtue signaling' political views that critics say that critics have mocked BBC rules.
