A manhunt was launched for Jamie Cooper, 33, from Blackpool, after he had fallen on the M55 of a Geoamey Prison bus on the M55 yesterday morning.
The vehicle supervised prisoners to the Lancaster Magistrates Court at the time of the incident.
The Lancashire police said that he had a medical emergency on board falsify and forced the van to stop around 9 am.
He was confronted with accusations of attacking a police officer and criminal damage.

A police spokesperson said earlier: 'We know that this might be about hearing about, but we want to reassure you that incidents such as these are extremely rare in Lancashire and it is something that we take incredibly seriously.
